
Master the Foundation of Hair Design.
The Hairstyling Program consists of 600 clock hours of technical instruction and practical operations covering hairstyling practices within the scope of training established by the State of California. This program is delivered through a hybrid format: 50% online theory and 50% hands-on, on-campus training.
What You'll Learn
Technical instruction includes demonstration, lecture, classroom participation, and evaluation. Practical operations include the performance of services on clients under instructor supervision and are completed on campus in a professional training environment.
Hair Styling Services
Arranging, blow drying, cleansing, curling, dressing, hair analysis, shampooing, waving, nonchemical straightening, and hair cutting for wet and dry cutting on all hair types and textures.
Health and Safety
Hazardous substances, chemical safety, safety data sheets, preventing chemical injuries, health and safety laws and regulations, and preventing communicable diseases.
Disinfection and Sanitation
Disinfection procedures to protect the health and safety of consumers and the technician, and proper disinfection procedures for equipment.
Additional Training & Practice
Further instruction and practical operations to master your craft and prepare for your career in hairstyling.

Program Policies & Outcomes
Outcome
Graduates receive a Certificate of Completion and Proof of Training (POT) to apply for the California State Board licensing exam.
Student Requirements
Students are required to complete all program hours and pass a final examination with a minimum score of 85% in accordance with institutional standards.
